§ 1179. Detention pond.

(a)

Access. Detention ponds shall be accessible from a public street via a minimum 20-foot wide access easement. There shall be access around detention pond via an all-weather road at least ten feet wide.

(b)

Security. Detention ponds shall be fenced at a height of at least four feet with a locking gate. If chain-link fencing is utilized, it shall be vinyl coated. The fencing requirement may be waived if slopes to the detention pond are 3:1 or less and the facility is made into an amenity feature approved by the public development department.

(c)

Landscaping. The periphery of detention ponds shall be landscaped as approved by the public development department.
