§ 24-1. Indigent funeral expenses.

The county shall cover the cost of funeral expenses up to a $300.00 limit for indigent persons. To be considered eligible for a funeral at county expense as an indigent, the person must be a bona fide resident of the county and must be declared as indigent by the board of commissioners of the county prior to services being rendered, after receiving certification as indigent by the county department of family and children services.
